“MeCoDem opens up exciting new prospects for expanding my expertise beyond the realm of Comparative Politics to the world of public communication and mass media. Trained in Middle East politics, with a focus on authoritarianism, state-society relations and democratization, I will seek to contribute to both the conceptual debates and theory building around media and democratisation conflicts as well as to recent conflict case studies in post-2011 Egypt.”
